Who we are

SportCoach (sportcoach.ro) is an adaptive running-coach application. Data controller: SportCoach, Romania. Contact: privacy@sportcoach.ro.

What we collect, and why

Account data — email address and sign-in credentials, to operate your account.
Health and training data you choose to connect — heart-rate variability, sleep duration and quality, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, sleep stages, daily activity, and workout records from sources you explicitly link (Polar, Samsung Health / Health Connect, and — through our connectivity partner Terra — Garmin, COROS, Suunto, Wahoo, Oura, Fitbit, or TrainingPeaks) or enter yourself (daily check-ins, training plans). Used for exactly one purpose: computing your daily readiness and adapting your training plan.
Profile details you provide directly — optional answers from onboarding (first name, birthday, gender, injury notes, training preferences), used to personalize your plan and coaching. All optional or skippable; stored with your account and deleted with it.
Waitlist data — if you joined the waitlist on this site: email and the campaign source that brought you.

What we do NOT do

We never sell your data.
We never use health data for advertising.
No third-party advertising or analytics SDKs touch your health data.
We store the minimum the readiness model needs — derived daily summaries, not continuous raw streams.

AI processing

The daily readiness decision is computed by deterministic code, not by an AI model. A language model only phrases the already-made decision into plain words. Only pseudonymous daily summaries (for example, “HRV 15% below baseline”) cross that boundary — never your name, email, or raw health history.

Payments

Subscriptions are sold and charged by Google Play — your card details never reach us. Our subscription processor, RevenueCat, receives a pseudonymous account identifier and purchase state (plan, renewal, expiry) so the app knows your subscription is active. No health data is ever shared with payment providers.

Where your data lives

Application data is stored with our backend provider, Convex (convex.dev). Production data for EU users is provisioned for EU data residency. Sub-processors, each under a data processing agreement and receiving only what their function needs: Convex (storage), Clerk (authentication), OpenAI (pseudonymous daily summaries for coaching language only), Terra (device connectivity for the sources listed above, when you link one), and RevenueCat (subscription state).

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can access, correct, export, or delete your data, and withdraw consent at any time. In-app: disconnect any data source, or delete your account (removes your health and training data). Or email privacy@sportcoach.ro — we respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in Romania: ANSPDCP).

Retention

Account and health data are kept while your account is active and deleted upon account deletion. Waitlist data is deleted when the waitlist concludes or on request.

Changes

We will post any changes here and, for material changes affecting health data, notify you in the app before they take effect.
